My contribute for the exhibition celebrating the 800th anniversary of the Basilica of Sant'Andrea in Vercelli. Why is the abbey so important? Because its foundation stone was laid by Cardinal Guala Bicchieri, papal legate in England, instrumental in the reissuing of the Magna Carta.
The 1217 Magna Carta appeared as a highlight of the exhibition and the celebrations of the anniversary.

Many tales tell that the abbey was built over a swamp, defeating and imprisoning a raging green dragon with black fins who inhabited it. In my work, the abbey still survive for centuries, but now is more like a home for the old and faded dragon.
